The domestic benchmark indices ended higher on January 19.
Sensex ended 496.37 points higher at 71,683.23, whereas Nifty concluded 160.15 points up at 21,622.40.
ONGC, Bharti Airtel, NTPC, Tech Mahindra and SBI Life Insurance were among the top gainers on the Nifty, while losers were IndusInd Bank, HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Divis Lab and Adani Ports.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 313.90 points lower at 71,186.86, whereas Nifty concluded 109.70 points down at 21,462.25.
