Ambala: The Leader of the Opposition in the Haryana Assembly and former Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, called for an immediate assessment of crop damage caused by a recent hailstorm and demanded compensation for affected farmers during a “Jan Aakrosh Rally” in the Mullana constituency in Ambala on Saturday, according to timesofindia.indiatimes.
Hooda highlighted the significant losses suffered by farmers in Panchkula, Yamunanagar, Ambala, Kurukshetra, and surrounding districts due to the hailstorm. Urging the government to swiftly conduct a girdawari (revenue survey) and provide full compensation to the affected farmers, Hooda expressed concern over the magnitude of the losses incurred.
Promising to address the outstanding payment issue with Naraingarh Sugar Mill, Hooda asserted that, if elected, his government would raise the price of sugarcane to Rs 450 per quintal.
The “Jan Aakrosh Rally” in Mullana was organized by local MLA Varun Chaudhary and saw the presence of former State President Phoolchand Mullana, former Minister Ashok Arora, legislators Mewa Singh, BL Saini, and ex-MLA Subhash Chaudhary.
