New Delhi: Sakuma Exports Ltd has joined the growing number of players venturing into maize procurement and ethanol production, aligning with the Central government’s emphasis on these sectors.
The agro-commodities company has announced its initiation of direct procurement from farmers, with a strategic focus on harnessing the burgeoning market potential in Eastern India.
As per release Sakuma said, “We are delighted to announce a significant milestone for Sakuma Exports Ltd. as we venture into the maize procurement and trading business, marking our commitment to diversify and expand our operations. With an allocated capital of upto Rs 50 Crore, we are poised to initiate direct procurement from farmers in Eastern
India, commencing this April-May 2024 procurement season.”
“This strategic move aligns with our long-term vision to capitalize on emerging market opportunities and bolster our position in the agricultural sector. By harnessing the potential of maize, we aim to cater to various industries, including the production of ethanol and ethanol-based products, thereby contributing to sustainable development and economic growth,” it further added.
