Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh: The management committee of the Cooperative Sugarcane Development Committee met on Wednesday. In this, a proposal was passed to increase the capacity of Baghpat Sugar Mill and increase the limit of loan given to farmers from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh, reported Amar Ujala.
Krishnpal, the committee’s chairman, stated that Bagpat Sugar Mill has a reduced crushing capacity due to an abundance of sugarcane, leading to delays in operations. Following discussions with farmers and obtaining their approval, the proposal to send sugarcane to another mill and provide loans to farmers at a lower interest rate, along with increasing the loan limit from one lakh to two lakhs, was passed.
