Benchmark indices closed with marginal gains in spite of a volatile session. Sensex and Nifty flip jumped between positive and negative territories over 10 times earlier in the day. BSE Sensex settled 66 points higher at 39,9750 with Infosys, Vedanta, Coal India, Vedanta, Tech Mahindra and Powergrid being the top gainers. On the other hand the losers were UltraTech Cement, Mahindra and Mahindra, Bharti Infratel and Bajaj Finance. The broader index NSE Nifty ended at 11,929 up by 4 points.
