Nurpur: The Bindal sugar mill in Changipur has released a payment of Rs 8.63 crore to the cane committee for sugarcane procured between March 6th to March 12th. This payment covers deliveries of 2.35 lakh quintals of sugarcane, reported Live Hindustan.
Jitendra Malik, a representative of the sugar mill, urged farmers to deliver their entire sugarcane harvest to the mill. He also advised them on disease-resistant sugarcane varieties suitable for spring planting, recommending options like Co 0108, Co 15023, Lak 14201, and Cosha 13235.
To protect sugarcane crops from red rot disease, Malik further recommended treating the land with Trichoderma and using fungicide on the seeds before planting.
