The Indian equity market started the financial year hitting fresh highs. Indian benchmark indices ended on positive note on April 1.
Sensex ended 363.20 points higher at 74,014.55, whereas Nifty concluded 135.10 points up at 22,462.00.
Tata Steel, JSW Steel, Adani Ports, Shriram Finance and Divi’s Labs were among the top Nifty gainers, while losers were Eicher Motors, Titan Company, Bajaj Auto, LTIMindtree and Nestle.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 639.16 points higher at 73,635.48, whereas Nifty concluded 203.25 points up at 22,326.90.
