Samur Bazar, Uttar Pradesh: A farmer meeting was held on Monday at the Narayanpur fertilizer warehouse premises, organized by the Seorahi Sugar Mill, reported Amar Ujala.
With the increasing heat, farmers were encouraged to ensure sufficient irrigation for the successful growth of sugarcane. The sugarcane supervisor Abdul Kayum mentioned that the rise in temperature due to the intense sunlight and wind will directly impact the sugarcane crop. If farmers continue to irrigate once a week, moisture will be maintained in the fields. He advised that within 24 hours of each irrigation, two kilograms of urea should be applied per acre. This will promote the growth of the sugarcane crop.
Farmers were also advised to perform grass cutting or use a weeding machine in the sugarcane fields on time. During this session, farmers like Kanhaiya Pandey, Taukir, Ashok Kumar, Jitendra Tiwari, Brajesh Singh, Vijay Kushwaha, Amlesh Tiwari, Sudhir Singh, Ashish Shrivastava, among others, were present.
