The benchmark equity indices ended higher on May 10.
Sensex ended 260.30 points up at 72,664.47, whereas Nifty concluded 97.70 points higher at 22,055.20.
From the Sensex basket, NTPC, Power Grid Corporation of India, JSW Steel, Asian Paints, Bharti Airtel and ITC, were the major gainers. Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Mahindra & Mahindra, HDFC Bank, Wipro and HCL Technologies were the biggest laggards.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 1,062.22 points down at 72,404.17, whereas Nifty concluded 345.00 points lower at 21,957.50.
