Domestic Market

Domestic sugar prices traded higher

Domestic sugar prices in the major markets were reported to be higher across the markets. Prices rose by Rs 10-20 per quintal on good demand amidst lesser supply.

In Muzaffarnagar, M-grade sugar costs Rs 3,930 to Rs 3,950 per quintal, while S-grade sugar costs Rs 3,620 to Rs 3,650. Agrimandi anticipates that the price of S grade sugar in the Kolhapur market will fall to between Rs 3,540 and Rs 3,660 per quintal within the next two weeks.

International Market

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #5 front month contract is trading at $562.10 ton, whereas the New York Sugar #11 front month contract is trading at 19.05 c/lb.

Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices

The rupee traded against the US dollar at 83.493 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.1444, Crude futures traded at ₹6589, Crude WTI traded at $78.88 barrel. Sensex closed 111.66 points higher at 72776.13 whereas Nifty closed 48.85 points higher at 22104.05
