Indian stock market benchmarks, the Sensex and the Nifty 50, ended lower on May 15.
Sensex ended 117.58 points down at 72,987.03, whereas Nifty concluded 17.30 points lower at 22,200.55.
From the Sensex basket, Bharti Airtel, Power Grid Corporation of India, Mahindra & Mahindra, NTPC, Larsen & Toubro and HCL Technologies were the major gainers. Asian Paints, Tata Motors, HDFC Bank, JSW Steel, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries and Hindustan Unilever were the biggest laggards.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 328.48 points up at 73,104.61, whereas Nifty concluded 113.80 points higher at 22,217.85.
