Domestic sugar prices reported stable
Domestic sugar prices in major markets were reported to be stable as buyers are waiting for the next monthly quota allocation. Next month’s quota is expected to be announced early next week. Allocation for the month of June is expected to be around 25.0 lakh tons, up 1.5 lakh tons from the same period last year.
In Muzaffarnagar, M-grade sugar ranged between Rs 3,890 and Rs 3,910 per quintal, while S-grade sugar traded between Rs 3,580 and Rs 3,620 per quintal in Kolhapur. Agrimandi expects the price of S grade sugar in the Kolhapur market to remain between Rs 3,540 and Rs 3,660 per quintal for the coming week.
