Meerut: Irregularities found in cane survey, officials take action

Meerut, Uttar Pradesh: Irregularities in the ongoing sugarcane survey are being detected by officials during inspections, reported Live Hindustan.

In cases where there is a 5 to 7 per cent discrepancy in the reported sugarcane area, officials are not only reprimanding the survey teams but also rectifying the errors on the spot.

Complaints about discrepancies in the survey are also reaching the district sugarcane headquarters, where they are being addressed and rectified.

For the upcoming sugarcane crushing season 2024-25, a sugarcane survey is currently underway. More than 100 teams have been deployed to visit fields conduct plant sugarcane surveys and verify the number of stools. The survey is being carried out using GPS technology.

District Sugarcane Officer Dr Dushyant Kumar is continuously visiting villages to inspect the survey. He has already detected discrepancies in the survey in several places and has not only reprimanded the survey teams but also had the errors rectified on the spot.

Dr. Dushyant Kumar has instructed that the survey must be completed by June 15th. He has emphasized that strict measures have been taken to ensure that there are no errors in the survey and that continuous inspections are being carried out.
