Shamli, Uttar Pradesh: Dozens of farmers from the region gathered at the Collectorate premises to demand the payment of their pending sugarcane dues. They warned of an indefinite protest if their payments were not made, reported Live Hindustan.
On Monday, numerous farmers from the area reached the Collectorate. They raised various issues faced by the farmers and stated that the owner of sugar mill had assured that all pending sugarcane payments would be completed by April. The mill owner had given a written assurance for the payment, but no action has been taken on it. They warned that if the payments were not made by June 30, they would resume their indefinite protest.
