Bharatiya Kisan Union Tikait holds talks with sugar mills officials on sugarcane issues

The Bharatiya Kisan Union Tikait (BKU Tikait) held talks with officials of the three sugar mills in the Sahkari Ganna Vikas Samiti Kanth on Thursday, reported Live Hindustan.

The tripartite talks, mediated by sugarcane department officials, were held to discuss the seven points of a memorandum submitted by the BKU Tikait on May 30.

BKU Tikait officials demanded that the small procurement centres of Triveni Sugar Mill (2 centres), Diwan Sugar Mill (5 centres), and Awadh Sugar Mill (10 centres) be upgraded to large platforms. They also demanded that the pending sugarcane price payment of the farmers be made through the Sahkari Ganna Samiti. In addition, the farmers staged a demonstration to highlight their problems.

On this occasion, Chaudhary Rishi pal Singh, Hardeep Singh, Siyaram Singh, Ram Kala Gurjar, Prince Chaudhary, Rahul Chaudhary, Mahesh Thakur, Dharampal Saini, Udayraj Singh, Chaudhary Satbir Singh Mann, Balraj Singh, Vishal, Raju, Happy, Arvind Bishnoi and other BKU Tikait activists and office bearers, as well as sugar mill officials, Ganna Samiti Secretary Mukesh Saxena and other officials were present.
