A temporary restriction on the exportation of sugar from Kazakhstan came into effect from June 14 by the Ministry of Agriculture of the country.
“The temporary ban on the export of sugar from Kazakhstan will last until August 31, 2024. This does not apply to the international transit of sugar from the territory of the republic, as well as to the transportation of these products between the countries that are members of the Eurasian Economic Union”, the ministry said in a statement.
The reason for introducing this measure of restriction, which is temporary, was the growing demand for sugar from the population and domestic processing industries in the summer period.
