Domestic Market
Sugar prices were reported to be stable
Domestic sugar prices in major markets are reported to be stable for the second session on the back of good demand. Demand was reported to be good at lower price levels. Meanwhile, the Indian monsoon has been stuck over North Maharashtra for the past 4-5 days due to unfavourable conditions for further advancement. However, the monsoon has covered the majority of the cane growing regions, and good rains are forecast for these areas, which should help to revive cane growth.
In Muzaffarnagar, M-grade sugar costs between Rs 3,840 and Rs 3,860 per quintal, while in Kolhapur, S-grade sugar is between Rs 3,580 and Rs 3,620.
