Uttarakhand: Farmers demand to set up new sugar mill in Kashipur

Kashipur, Uttarakhand: The Kisan Vikas Club organized its monthly meeting on Saturday, where farmers raised various demands from the Chief Minister, including the establishment of a new sugar mill in Kashipur.

A memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister was submitted to the SDM at the Mandi Guest House. The memorandum highlighted the government’s plans to ban off-season (summer) paddy cultivation from next year. In light of this, the farmers urged the establishment of a new sugar mill in Kashipur, believing that it would encourage them to switch from summer paddy to sugarcane farming.

The meeting was conducted by State Secretary Shwetanshu Chaturvedi. State president Arun Kumar Sharma, BKU state vice president Prem Singh Sahota, Sheetal Singh, Ravi Kumar, Satyam Sharma, Dinesh Sharma, and Hari Singh were also present on the occasion.
