Dehradun, Uttarakhand: Saurabh Bahuguna, Minister of Sugarcane Development, organised a review meeting with the department officials on Tuesday at the Secretariat, reported Hindustan Samachar.
The minister also assessed the preparations for the upcoming crushing season of sugar mills.
During the review meeting, Minister Bahuguna directed the officials to modernize the sugar mills, ensure the production of quality sugar and other products, recruit additional skilled and experienced personnel in the mills, and make timely payments of dues to the sugarcane farmers.
Additionally, Minister Bahuguna instructed the officials to promptly address the issues faced by the employees working in the sugar mills and the dependents of deceased employees. The meeting was attended by Finance Secretary Dilip Jawalkar, Secretary of Sugarcane Development and Sugar Industry Vijay Yadav, and the Sugarcane Commissioner, among others.
