Sugar prices reported to be stable
Domestic sugar prices were reported to be stable after falling due to weak demand. It was reported that trading was not very active today. Rainfall is expected to be good in the major cane-growing regions, but demand is still reportedly sluggish. This is adding pressure to already oversupplied markets, pushing up prices.
The price range for S-grade sugar in Kolhapur is Rs 3,550-3,580 per quintal, while M-grade sugar in Muzaffarnagar is Rs 3,780-3,800. Agrimandi predicts that the price of S grade sugar in the Kolhapur market will fall in the next two weeks to a range of Rs 3,520 to Rs 3,620 per quintal.
