Sugar MSP likely to rise: NFCSF President Harshvardhan Patil

Walva: Minimum Selling Price (MSP) of sugar is likely to be increased, said Harshvardhan Patil, President of the National Cooperative Sugar Factories Federation(NFCSF).

Speaking to reporters, Patil said that a meeting in this regard was convened by Union Minister Amit Shah in Delhi, who assured that the decision would be finalized in the Union Cabinet.

Sugar mills have already invested in ethanol production and we are making efforts to lift the ban on ethanol production from B-heavy molasses. Furthermore, he announced that 10,000 sugarcane harvesting machines would be provided to the sugar mills across the state to aid in the harvesting process.
