Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Administration has decided to “exempt electric vehicles and vehicles running on ethanol or methanol from the permit requirements, provided the aggregator company ensures commercial insurance for the vehicle and completes any other necessary formalities registered for the purpose, to help reduce pollution,”, reports Indian Express.
The Chandigarh Administration has made the provision in the recently released draft Motor Vehicle Aggregator Rules-2024 to regulate app-based taxis operating in the city, covering aspects such as taxi fare regulation and penalties for ride cancellations.
