Sharad Pawar meets Chief Minister Eknath Shinde again to discuss sugar mill issues

Mumbai: NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar met with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday to discuss issues related to sugar mills, according to officials, reports Hindustan Times.

On Saturday evening, the chief minister stated that Pawar had met with him to discuss some pending matters. “Pawar Saheb met me for some pending work related to him and his MLAs,” Shinde said.

Officials disclosed that Pawar raised concerns about loans for cooperative sugar mills controlled by politicians from opposition parties. “The sugar mills related to opposition leaders have been ignored by the government,” Pawar reportedly stated. He also highlighted that proposals from cooperative sugar mills run by NCP (SP) MLA Ashok Pawar, former NCP (SP) MLA Rahul Jagtap, and Congress MLA Sangram Thopte were not granted loan guarantees under the ‘Margin Money Assistance’ scheme. This scheme is run by the central government subsidiary, the National Cooperative Development Corporation.
