The equity benchmark indices ended marginally lower on Monday amid volatility.
Sensex ended 56.98 points higher at 79,648.92, whereas Nifty concluded 20.50 points down at 24,347.00.
Hero MotoCorp, Axis Bank, ONGC, Infosys and JSW Steel were among the major gainers on the Nifty, while losers included NTPC, Britannia Industries, Adani Ports, SBI and Dr Reddy’s Labs.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 819.69 points higher at 79,705.91, whereas Nifty concluded 250.50 points up at 24,367.50.
