A meeting of farmers was conducted by the Bharatiya Kisan Union at Bara Pind near Goraya.
The meeting, chaired by Harnam Singh Dhesi, featured addresses from Satnam Singh Sahni, General Secretary of Bharatiya Kisan Union (Doaba), and Kirpal Singh Mussapur, the state Vice-President. Both leaders strongly criticized the Phagwara Sugar Mill administration for failing to pay their outstanding dues.
Sahni announced that the BKU will initiate an indefinite dharna in front of the DC office in Kapurthala starting August 22 to protest the non-payment of these dues.
