Bagaha, Bihar: Bihar’s Sugarcane Minister Krishna Nandan Paswan assured the sugarcane farmers that the government is committed to improving the production of sugarcane under the Chief Minister’s scheme. He informed the farmers that his government was putting efforts into providing the basic inputs such as fertilizers, seeds and other requirements for sugarcane cultivation, reports Prabhat Khabar.
For the facilitation of the transport of sugarcane, the announcement has been made for the construction of a nine-kilometer road. Minister Paswan said that a DPR on the road has already been submitted by the Tirupati Sugar Mill, Bagaha. He assured that he would pursue the matter personally with the concerned department minister so that the project gets momentum.
Addressing the problem of shortage of electricity faced by the farmers, he assured them that the installation of transformers would be discussed with the Power Minister for irrigation on time to save the crops. Paswan said that sugarcane is grown in five districts, including Gopalganj, Siwan, East Champaran and West Champaran. He told the farmers that the problems related to fertilizer and seed shortage would be overcome with the help of the Principal Secretary.
The Cane Commissioner, addressing the farmers’ concerns, assured them that all issues would be considered promptly. He directed the mill management to ensure that alternative roads were available during the crushing season to avoid disruptions.
