Sensex ends 1,440 points higher after record-breaking rally, Nifty settles above 25,350

Indian benchmark equity indices Sensex and Nifty hit fresh all-time highs on Thursday, mirroring global gains.

Sensex ended 1,439.55 points higher at 82,962.71, The index hit an all-time high of 83,116.19 during the intra-day trade. Whereas Nifty concluded 470.45 points up at 25,388.90.

All Nifty 50 stocks, barring Nestle ended in the green, with Hindalco, Bharti Airtel and NTPC leading the gains. Along with that, all sectoral indices also posted gains. Metals, automobiles, capital goods, technology and power sectors surged 2-4 percent.

In the previous season, Sensex ended 398.13 points lower at 81,523.16, whereas Nifty concluded 122.65 points down at 24,918.45.
