Bangladesh border guard seizes smuggled sugar

On Monday, members of Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) seized 10,000 kilograms of sugar in the Madhabpur border area of Habiganj district, reported Bangladeshi Media.

Following a tip-off, a team conducted a raid at Jagadishpur Muktijoddha Chattar area and found the sugar abandoned, according to Captain Lieutenant Colonel Imdadul Bari Khan of BGB’s 55 Battalion. He noted that the sugar had been smuggled into the country.

No arrests were made, as the truck driver and his assistant escaped before the raid took place.
