Uttar Pradesh: Farmers demand to increase sugarcane price

Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh: Farmers under the banner of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) Sangharsh Morcha protested at the District Collectorate demanding fixing sugarcane price at Rs 450 per quintal for the ongoing crushing season, reported Live Hindustan. The protestors submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister through the District Magistrate (DM).

In the memorandum to the Chief Minister, union leaders urged the government to ensure prompt payment of pending dues to sugarcane farmers and immediately halt the installation of smart electricity meters in the district.
