Gadaura sugar mill to reopen again, bringing relief to farmers

Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh: As the crushing season draws near, the management of Gadaura Sugar Mill has resumed preparations to get the mill working, which may be a good source of hope for some farmers to see the mill start operating once again. After the allocation of sugarcane to the mill, smiles have returned on the faces of many farmers. There is also renewed hope that the area under sugarcane cultivation will increase, reported Live Hindustan.

Gadaura Sugar Mill, with a daily crushing capacity of 45,000 quintals, had encouraged thousands of farmers in the region to cultivate sugarcane. However, due to delays in payment for the sugarcane in the previous crushing season, the sugarcane supplying was stopped to the mill.

Farmers are overjoyed upon hearing that the mill will open again.

Om Prakash Singh Yadav, District Cane Officer: As of now, Gadaura mill has no pending dues for sugarcane to the farmers. With all the dues cleared now, mill management is ready to get back to operation. The mill will likely collect sugarcane in the next crushing season.
