Indian benchmark indices broke six-day losing streak and ended higher with Nifty above 25,000 on October 8.
Sensex ended 584.81 points higher at 81,634.81, whereas Nifty concluded 217.40 points up at 25,013.15.
Trent, Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, Bharat Electronics, M&M were among the top gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Tata Steel, SBI Life Insurance, Titan Company, JSW Steel and Bajaj Finserv.
In the previous season, Sensex closed at 81,050.00 points, down 638.45 points or 0.78 per cent, while Nifty closed at 24,795.75 points, down 218.85 points or 0.87 per cent.
Indian rupee ended flat at 83.96 per dollar on Tuesday versus Monday’s close of 83.97.
