Shillong: In a recent operation on October 8, the Border Security Force (BSF) in Meghalaya successfully prevented sugar smuggling across the border into Bangladesh.
The BSF, working with the Meghalaya police, seized over 9,000 kg of sugar meant for smuggling into Bangladesh. The consignment was found in an abandoned house near the South Garo Hills border and was handed over to the Rongra police station for further action.

Alert troops of the BSF in Tripura, in a determined effort to combat trans-border smuggling along the Indo-Bangladesh border, rescued three cattle intended for smuggling to Bangladesh. In other operations, they also seized sugar.
