Egypt continues ban on sugar export for six more months

The Egyptian government has announced a six-month extension on the ban of local sugar exports, effective from October 7th, according to Asharq Business, which cited an official document.

Earlier, on August 28th, the cabinet approved the prices for sugar crops for the upcoming 2025 supply season. The set price for sugar cane supply is EGP 2,500 per ton, while sugar beet is priced at EGP 2,400 per ton.
