Morena, Madhya Pradesh : Former Minister Girraj Dandotiya has urged Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav to revive the cooperative sugar mill in Kailaras. The mill has been closed for 12 years. In his letter to the Chief Minister, Dandotiya mentioned that Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah has set aside Rs 10,000 crore to restart closed factories. He also noted that Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had written to Amit Shah, asking for the Kailaras sugar mill to be revived, reported ETV Bharat.
Dandotiya emphasized that reopening the mill would benefit around 50,000 farmers from three constituencies by providing them fair prices for their sugarcane crops.
The mill was a lifeline for sugarcane farmers of Kailaras, Joura, and Morena as well as for the farmers from Gwalior, Datia, and Bhind districts.
