Domestic Market

Weak sentiment witnessed in domestic sugar prices

Domestic sugar prices exhibited weakness across markets, with a decline of Rs 10 per quintal reported.Demand is reported to be weak, with purchasers favoring a hand-to-mouth approach. Crushing in North Karnataka is expected to be postponed due to current rainfall activity.

The price of M-grade sugar in Muzaffarnagar is between Rs 3,880 and Rs 3,930 per quintal, whereas S-grade sugar in Kolhapur is priced between Rs 3,560 and Rs 3,630. Agrimandi.live forecasts that S-grade sugar prices in Kolhapur will fluctuate between Rs 3,500 and Rs 3,650 per quintal shortly.

International Market

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #5 front month contract is trading at $573.90 ton, whereas the New York Sugar #11 front month contract is trading at 22.36 c/lb.

Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices

The rupee traded against the US dollar at 84.040 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.6200, Crude futures traded at ₹5943, Crude WTI traded at $70.58 barrel. Sensex closed 152.93 points lower at 81820.12 whereas Nifty closed 70.60 points lower at 25057.35
