Rudrapur: DM expresses displeasure over the decline in sugarcane cultivation

Rudrapur, Uttarakhand: District Magistrate and Managing Director of Uttarakhand Sugars, Udayraj Singh, expressed displeasure over the decrease in sugarcane cultivation compared to last year. He issued directives to ensure the timely completion of repairs and maintenance work at the Nadehi and Bajpur sugar mills, reported Amar Ujala.

A review meeting was conducted at the district office auditorium yesterday on the commencement of the 2024-25 crushing season. He reviewed boiler up-gradation works being done at Kichha and Nadehi sugar mills. Singh expressed resentment over the slow pace of technical work at the Nadehi and Bajpur mills and ordered that all equipment trails should be completed by the end of October. He also insisted on coordinating with the sugarcane officer to increase sugarcane cultivation through effective efforts.

Singh directed that all equipment trials should be completed by the first week of November so that the crushing season can begin on time. The meeting was attended by Vijay Pandey, General Manager of Uttarakhand Sugars; T.S. Martolia, Managing Director of Kichha Sugar Mill; Harveer Singh from Bajpur; and Dinesh Pratap Singh, Chief Manager of Nadehi Sugar Mill, among others.
