Weak sentiment in domestic sugar prices
Domestic sugar prices have continued to fall throughout markets, with a reported decrease of Rs 20 per quintal in Uttar Pradesh and Rs 5 in Kolhapur. Despite the recent price drop, demand remains low as purchasers choose a hand-to-mouth purchasing strategy.
Crushing operations in North Karnataka are expected to be delayed due to the present rainfall. Operations in Uttar Pradesh are anticipated to begin after Diwali, while crushing in Maharashtra would start after the state elections. State elections are set for November 20th in the state.
M-grade sugar in Muzaffarnagar is between Rs 3,840 and Rs 3,890 per quintal, whilst S-grade sugar in Kolhapur costs between Rs 3,540 and Rs 3,610. Agrimandi.live expects that S-grade sugar prices in Kolhapur would be between Rs 3,500 and Rs 3,650 per quintal in the near future.
