Pralhad Joshi launches FCI Grievance Redressal System Mobile Application for rice millers

Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and New & Renewable Energy, Shri Pralhad Joshi, today unveiled the Mobile Application for the FCI Grievance Redressal System (FCI GRS) tailored for rice millers in New Delhi. This initiative is part of the Union Government’s efforts to boost transparency, accountability, and stakeholder satisfaction. The application will enable rice millers to efficiently and transparently address their grievances with the FCI. The FCI GRS App is a component of the Government’s broader strategy to utilize technology for better governance and is available for download on the Google Play Store for Android users.

In line with the Digital India initiative, the app is designed to enhance responsiveness and accountability by providing rice millers with an accessible platform to submit complaints, track their status, and receive updates directly on their mobile devices in a fully digitized manner. Key features of the app include:

– User-Friendly Grievance Submission: Millers can easily file grievances through an intuitive interface, streamlining communication with the FCI. After a one-time registration, they can lodge multiple grievances, each assigned a Unique Grievance ID.

– Real-Time Tracking: The app provides real-time updates on the status of grievances, ensuring that millers stay informed and promoting transparency.

– Automatic Assignment & Rapid Resolution: Upon receipt, grievances are automatically assigned to the relevant Nodal Officers for further action. The app allows Nodal Officers to either escalate the issue to a Quick Response Team or seek feedback from the appropriate Division.

– Geo-Fencing for Quick Response Teams (QRTs): If grievance resolution requires a site visit by the QRT, the app will document the visit using a geo-fencing feature.

This initiative highlights the Government’s commitment to enhancing accountability, transparency, and stakeholder satisfaction through a strong grievance redressal mechanism. The launch signifies another step forward in the FCI’s dedication to improving procurement operations and service standards.
