A 66th directional level meeting of leading intelligence agencies was convened yesterday at the BSF headquarters in Meghalaya to improve inter-agency coordination and tackle pressing security concerns along the India-Bangladesh border.
The meeting, chaired by BSF DIG (PSO) I.D. Singh, focused on various border-related challenges, with particular attention to the ongoing issues of sugar and cattle smuggling.
Representatives from several intelligence and security agencies exchanged insights and formulated strategies to combat these illicit activities, which pose significant security and economic risks. The discussions also included operational strategies bolstered by an intelligence network to enhance border security.
In his remarks, Singh emphasized the necessity of collaboration among agencies to protect border security and address criminal activities. The agencies present reiterated their commitment to improving intelligence sharing and operational coordination to mitigate illegal activities along the border.
“This collaborative meeting reflects the dedication of BSF and allied intelligence agencies to upholding national security and proactively addressing emerging threats along the border,” stated the BSF.
