Domestic Market

Domestic sugar prices were stable to higher

Sugar prices in Uttar Pradesh major markets were reported higher by Rs. 10 per quintal while Maharashtra markets remained stable. Demand is said to be dull as buyers remain hand to mouth as crushing activity is started.

M-grade sugar in Muzaffarnagar costs Rs 3,880-Rs 3,930 per quintal, whereas S-grade sugar in Kolhapur costs Rs 3,510-Rs 3,580. Agrimandi.live expects Kolhapur S-grade sugar prices to rise to Rs 3,500-Rs 3,620 per quintal in the coming days.

International Market

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #5 front month contract is trading at $561.60 ton, whereas the New York Sugar #11 front month contract is trading at 22.08 c/lb.

Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices

The rupee traded against the US dollar at 84.109 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.8285, Crude futures traded at ₹6030, Crude WTI traded at $71.63 barrel. Sensex closed 971.32 points lower at 78752.80 whereas Nifty closed 314.70 points lower at 23989.65
