Uttar Pradesh: Farmers demand hike in sugarcane rate to Rs 450 per quintal

Amroha, Uttar Pradesh: In a recent meeting organized by the Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) Tikait, farmers demanded that the government announce a price of Rs 450 per quintal for sugarcane for the current crushing season, reported Amar Ujala.

The BKU Tikait meeting took place on Tuesday at the block complex. Former state vice-president Alok Kumar highlighted that the sugarcane crushing season had already begun. Considering the rising costs of agricultural inputs, he stressed the importance of declaring the sugarcane price at Rs 450 per quintal. The meeting also called for the inclusion of the sugarcane variety 05009 in the early-maturing category. They insisted that payments for sugarcane should be ensured within 14 days.

The meeting was attended by several farmer leaders and members, including Radheshyam, Naresh Singh, Ranveer Singh, Ramveer Singh, Atar Singh, Deepa Singh, and Rajkali.
