Gola Gokaran Nath, Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane farmers have warned the sugar mills that they will stop the cane supply to the mills if payments are not made in 14 days this season, reported Amar Ujala.
Officials of the Rashtriya Kisan Shakti Sangathan submitted a memorandum to the state’s Cane Commissioner, Prabhu Narayan Singh in this regard demanding that payments for the current crushing season be made within 14 days.
In response, the Cane Commissioner assured that payments would be processed within 14 days of establishing the CC credit limit. The organization’s national president Rampal Singh, state president Patel Shrikrishna Verma, and national spokesperson Captain Manoj Kumar Singh emphasized to the commissioner the importance of settling outstanding payments from the previous crushing season. They also warned that if payments for the new crushing season are not made within 14 days, farmers would halt sugarcane supply to the mills starting in December.
