Domestic sugar prices were reported stable
Domestic sugar prices in the major markets were reported to be stable following a steady decline. However, once the crushing process begins, prices are likely to fall. Furthermore, there has been no update on ethanol prices or sugar MSP, and according to sources, the decision will be made after the Maharashtra assembly elections.
Demand is said to be dull, with buyers preferring hand-to-mouth, and the government has not announced an increase in sugar MSP, which has kept prices under pressure over the last fortnight.
S-grade sugar in Kolhapur costs Rs 3,430-3,500 per quintal, while M-grade sugar in Muzaffarnagar costs Rs 3,770-3,820. According to Agrimandi.live, Kolhapur S-grade sugar will cost between Rs 3,400 and Rs 3,560 per quintal in the near future.
