Uttar Pradesh: Minister urges sugar mill to clear pending cane dues at the earliest

Pilibhit: Sanjay Singh Gangwar, Minister of State for Sugarcane Development, called a meeting with officials of Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Limited’s Barkheda unit to review the status of sugarcane payments to farmers. The meeting, held at his camp office, was attended by unit head Ashish Tripathi and senior officials Subodh Kumar Gupta and Harish Jyala, reported Live Hindustan.

During the discussion, the minister asked if the mill was following the payment schedule it had committed to. The officials informed him that ₹25 crore had already been paid and assured him that the remaining dues would be cleared by December 15.

Expressing concern, the minister warned the mill management to complete all pending payments without delay. He also stressed the importance of ensuring timely payments for the current sugarcane season. “Farmers are our food providers, and their welfare is the government’s top priority. Any delay in payments will not be tolerated,” he stated.

The mill officials promised to adhere to the instructions and assured the minister that farmers in the region would not face any difficulties.
