Panaji: The Goa government has announced an extension of financial support for the Sanjivani Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd. The assistance will now continue until December 31.
In a notification issued, Director Agriculture Sandeep Fol Desai said that the government has decided to extend the financial benefit to the factory till December 31 or until the employees take voluntary retirement.
The factory, which has not operated since 2019, employs about 170 people, including 99 regular staff. Since production stopped, the government has been providing financial help to the factory.
However, as per reports, this could be the final round of support, as the government is unlikely to extend aid any further.
