Indian benchmark indices ended marginally lower on December 24.
Sensex ended 67.30 points lower at 78,472.87, whereas Nifty concluded 25.80 points down at 23,727.65.
Power Grid Corp, JSW Steel, SBI Life Insurance, Titan Company and SBI were among major losers on the Nifty, while gainers were Tata Motors, Adani Enterprises, Eicher Motors, BPCL and ITC.
Indian rupee ended 9 paise lower at fresh record low at 85.20 per dollar on Tuesday versus Monday’s close of 85.11.
In the previous season, the Sensex plunged 498.58 points, to close at 78,540.17, while the Nifty rise by 165.95 points, settling at 498.58.
