Rajasthan: CM Bhajan Lal Sharma Increases sugarcane price by Rs 10 per quintal

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has provided much-needed relief to the state’s sugarcane farmers by approving a Rs 10 per quintal increase in sugarcane prices. This decision is expected to raise the income of thousands of sugarcane farmers in Sri Ganganagar.

According to the new rates, farmers will now get Rs 401 per quintal for the early variety of sugarcane, Rs 391 per quintal for the mid-season variety, and Rs 386 per quintal for the late variety.

In the 2024-25 season, about 3,170 farmers in Sri Ganganagar district planted sugarcane on approximately 19,004 bighas of land.

Farmers had been demanding an increase in sugarcane prices for a long time. They had also organized protests several times to press for their demands.
