Indian equity indices ended marginally lower on January 08.
Sensex ended 50.62 points lower at 78,148.49, whereas Nifty concluded 18.95 points down at 23,688.95.
ONGC, ITC, Reliance Industries, TCS, Asian Paints were among the top gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Apollo Hospitals, Trent, Bajaj Auto, Adani Ports, Shriram Finance.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 234.12 points higher at 78,199.11, whereas Nifty concluded 91.85 points up at 23,707.90.
Indian rupee ended 13 paise lower at 85.85 per dollar on Wednesday against Tuesday’s close of 85.72.
