Indian equity indices ended on positive note on January 15.
Sensex ended 224.45 points higher at 76,724.08, whereas Nifty concluded 37.15 points up at 23,213.20.
Axis Bank, M&M, Bajaj Finserv, Shriram Finance, Bajaj Finance were among major losers on the Nifty, while gainers were Trent, Power Grid Corp, NTPC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Maruti Suzuki.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 169.62 points higher at 76,499.63, whereas Nifty concluded 90.10 points up at 23,176.05.
Indian rupee ended 28 paise higher at 86.36 per dollar on Wednesday versus previous close of 86.64.
