SEIA 2025 : Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar receives award for largest integrated sugar mills in India

The prestigious Sugar, Ethanol, and Bioenergy International Awards (SEIA) 2025 came to a resounding conclusion at Andaz by Hyatt in New Delhi, celebrating exceptional achievements within the sugar, ethanol, and bioenergy sectors. The award function, a highlight of the 4th edition of the Sugar – Ethanol and Bioenergy India Conference (SEIC 2025), held from January 30 to 31, 2025, honored the industry’s brightest stars on January 30, 2025. The event provided a platform to recognize organizations and individuals who have driven innovation and growth within their respective fields. The conference was inaugurated by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari.

Largest Integrated Sugar Mills in India: Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Limited

A notable recipient of largest integrated sugar mills in India was Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Limited (BHSL). BHSL was established in 1931, as ‘Hindusthan Sugar Mills Limited.’ Founded by the late Shri Jamnalal Bajaj, the company’s inception aimed to address a critical national mission-providing momentum to the industry, given that there were fewer than 30 sugar mills in the country at that time and advancing inclusive growth. In 1988, Hindusthan Sugar Mills Limited underwent a name change, becoming Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Limited (BHSL). During the 2000s, the company initiated an ambitious greenfield expansion, establishing eight plants across the state. BHSL’s growth initiative was strategically focused on achieving global manufacturing scale and cost competitiveness. Today, the company holds a unique position, ranking among the world’s best in planning and processes.

The SEIA 2025 Awards recognized excellence across various categories, each highlighting pivotal contributions to the growth and success of the industry. Awards were presented for Best Sugar Plant in the Private Sector, Most Diversified Sugar Group, Emerging Start-up for Biofuel Trade, the Lifetime Achievement Award, among others. These accolades honored leaders, innovators, and rising stars who are transforming the sugar and ethanol sectors through their dedication, ingenuity, and leadership.
